WILLENE'S SEVEN LAYER SALAD
Willene Bailey, my grandmother, taught me how to make this right before she passed away. Since then I have made it for every family function. I recently made it for my fathers side of the family - he calls it fat salad (because it may be a salad but there ain't nothing healthy about it). I am not allowed to come if I don't bring it with me!

1 head of lettuce, torn into pieces
1 (15 oz.) can sweet peas, drained
1 sliced onion
6-8 (depending on bowl size) boiled eggs, sliced
1 lb. cooked bacon, crumbled
equal parts mayonnaise and dairy sour cream w/garlic salt to taste
layer of shredded cheese on top (I use Colby-Jack, but my mom likes sharp cheddar)

Start layering with the lettuce, finish with the cheese, the rest doesn't really the order as long as the cheese is on top of the dressing and the lettuce is on the bottom. I layer mine in the order of the list above, because that is the way I was taught. Always serve in a clear dish, so its pretty, of course. Don't stir until its time to eat.
