1 1/4 c. soft butter
2 c. sugar
2 lg. eggs
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 c. all-purpose flour
3/4 c. cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda

POSSIBLE ADDITIVES:

Mint chips
Peanut butter chips
Nuts
Butterscotch chips

In large bowl, cream butter and sugar; add eggs and vanilla. Beat well. In medium bowl, combine flour with cocoa and baking soda; gradually blend into creamed mixture. Drop by teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 9-11 minutes. Store in airtight container with slice of bread to retain chewiness.
