HEAVENLY RICE 
1/2 c. uncooked rice
2 1/2 c. milk
1/3 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. heavy cream
1/2 tsp. almond extract
1/2 lb. marshmallows, finely cut
1/2 c. crushed pineapple
1/2 c. candied cherries

Cook rice, sugar, salt and milk until rice is soft. Remove from heat and cool until chilled. Add marshmallows, fruit, flavoring and stiffly whipped cream. Chill thoroughly. To serve, garnish with cherries and nuts. Serve very cold.
