HEAVENLY BISCUITS | |
2 c. flour 1 tbsp. sugar 3 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. lard 1 well beaten egg 2/3 c. milk Sift together dry ingredients. Cut in lard until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Combine egg and milk. Add to mixture all at once. Stir until mixed, but sticky. Turn out onto lightly floured board. Knead gently about 15 strokes. Roll to 3/4 inch thickness. Cut with a glass dipped in flour. Place on ungreased baking sheet and bake in 450 degree F. oven for 15 minutes. |
