APPLESAUCE CAKE 
1 c. sour dough See starter recipe
1/2 c. thick applesauce
1/4 c. dry skim milk
1 c. white flour
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 beaten egg
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. each allspice, cloves, salt
2 tsp. baking soda

In mixing bowl combine sour dough, applesauce, skim milk and flour and blend. Cream granulated and brown sugars and butter; add eggs and blend. Add spices and stir in 2 tsp. baking soda.

Combine both mixtures. Beat lightly, just until mixtures are combined. Place batter in two 8 inch greased cake or 9x13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes. Allow to cool. Raisins and nuts also may be added as desired. Ice with caramel icing.
