CHOCOLATE-COVERED CHERRIES 
1 (16 oz.) jar plus 1 (10 oz.) jar maraschino cherries
3 tbsp. butter
3 tbsp. light corn syrup
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. sifted powdered sugar
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate morsels
1 tsp. shortening

Drain cherries on towel. Combine butter, syrup, and salt then sugar and knead until smooth. Then put around cherries. Place on wax paper plate chill for 2 hours until firm. Combine chocolate, shortening, in double boiler. Dip and chill.
