EASY ROUND STEAK WITH MUSTARD
SAUCE

round steak
butter
mustard
paprika
salt and pepper
onion powder, garlic powder (optional)
wide egg noodles

This simple recipe was was enjoyed by my family for many years. Round steak is a tough meat to cook but the results made for a wonderful dinner. I will explain at the end.

None of the ingredients are measured. They are just tossed in and you suit your taste. You can do this for one or a family. Here we go.

Since the sauce is the basis for this meal, prepare enough noodles for a generous portion for you and all to enjoy. The noodle package will guide you. Stir in enough butter to your cooked noodles before serving to give them a glistening look.

These round steaks will be broiled and you need to catch the drippings for the sauce. Heat oven broiler and prepare on broiler grate on drip pan. Salt and pepper your steaks. Cut butter into quarter inch pats and cover steaks with some spaces in between. Coat steak with mustard to just even with the pats. Shake a nice thin coating of paprika onto the steaks. You only need to do these things to one side. Place into heated broiler.

After a few minutes you will begin to see the edges of the steak curl and the butter and mustard begin to form a sauce. Turn the steaks over and cook for 2-3 minutes.

Serve the steaks with the curled side up since this will have the mustard butter coating up. The drippings are gathered into a side bowl to add to the noodles upon taste.

When eating keep in mind that the round steak will still be tough. Slice it thin to enjoy the butter mustard flavor. A garlicked string bean is the best vegetable served to complete this meal.

Simple to prepare. That mustard sauce over the noodles was a new flavor combination.

Glad you tried it and hope you liked it. It's the sauce that makes the whole dish. Collect those drippings and away you go. Not the most healthy but the taste can't be duplicated.
