BASIC SWEET ROLL DOUGH | |
1 1/2 pkgs. yeast 1/4 c. warm water 1 c. milk 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. oil 5 c. (maybe less) flour 2 eggs Dissolve the 1 1/2 packages yeast in water and set aside. (Add 1/2 teaspoon sugar to yeast). Scald milk, and put it into your mixer bowl. (I use my food processor since my mixer doesn't have dough hooks). Pour in your sugar, salt, and oil. Cool to warm and mix well. Add 1 cup flour to make a batter. Beat well. Add eggs and yeast, mixing well. Add flour until thick enough to knead. Remove from mixer. Knead until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl and turn dough so it will be oiled on top AND bottom. Cover and let rise about 1 1/2 hours. Shape into rolls and let rise until double. Bake at 350 degrees to 375 degrees until done. Take from oven and brush with melted butter. |
