OLD FASHIONED TEA CAKES 
2 sticks butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. milk
7 c. all-purpose flour

Cream butter and sugar well; add eggs, one at a time, then add sifted dry ingredients with the first cup of flour. Add milk and enough of the remaining flour to the proper consistency for rolling dough on floured board. Cut in desired shapes. Place on a cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees until lightly tanned. Store in a tight container.
