1 lb. soft (always use) real butter
1 c. confectionery sugar
5 c. all purpose flour
In a large bowl place butter and let sit until soft. Add sifted confectionery sugar, gradually add flour. Mix with fork, as it thickens you will have to use your hands. Line a cookie sheet 9 x 15 inches, with 3 layers of paper towels. Put dough evenly over the sheet, leaving it about 1 inch thick. Prick all over with fork. Bake at 300 to 325 degrees for one hour or golden brown. Cut into squares while warm. They keep 2 to 3 weeks in a sealed tin or Tupperware.
