PEACH COBBLER 
1 stick butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
Pinch salt
2 c. sliced peaches
3/4 c. milk

Melt butter in a square 8x8x2 inch baking pan and set aside. Make a batter of 1 cup of sugar, flour, baking powder, salt and milk. Pour batter over melted butter, but do not stir.

Mix peaches with remaining 1/2 cup of sugar and place over top of batter. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees.

Other fruits or berries may be used in place of peaches. If fresh fruit is not available, use canned pie sliced apples or peaches. (Batter will rise and form a crust on cobbler.)
