MOM'S DILLY BREAD | |
1 pkg. dry yeast 1 c. cottage cheese 1 unbeaten egg 1 tbsp. minced onion 1 tsp. salt 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 c. flour 1/4 c. lukewarm water 1 tbsp. butter 2 tbsp. sugar 2 tsp. dill seed 1/2 tsp. baking soda Soften yeast in water. Combine cottage cheese, sugar, onion, butter, dill seed, salt, soda, egg and softened yeast in a large mixing bowl. Gradually add flour to form soft dough using a mixer; beat well after each addition of flour. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 50 to 60 minutes). Punch dough down and turn into well greased 8 inch round casserole baking dish. let rise again 30 to 40 minutes. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes. Brush top with melted butter and sprinkle with salt. |
