PECAN PIE SQUARES 
BASE:

1 pkg. yellow cake mix
1/3 c. butter, softened
1 egg

FILLING:

1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1 1/2 c. dark corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs
1 c. chopped pecans

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 13"x9" pan. Reserve 2/3 cup dry cake mix for filling.

In large bowl mix remaining cake mix, butter and 1 egg at low speed. Blend well. Spread in pan, bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Combine reserved cake mix, brown sugar, corn syrup, vanilla and 3 eggs at low speed until moistened. Beat at medium speed about 1 minute.

Pour filling over baste. Sprinkle with pecans, return to oven and bake 30 to 35 minutes or until filling is set. Cool completely. Cut into bars.
