BROWN SUGAR DROPS 
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1/4 c. buttermilk
1 egg
1 3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Mix together, cover and refrigerate for 1 hour. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Use light brown glaze to ice these cookies.
