COCONUT CRISP COOKIES 
A Crisp Cookie.

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup coconut flakes

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Cream butter. Add sugars gradually, mixing well after each addition. Add egg and vanilla. Beat until light and fluffy. Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and nutmeg. Add to creamed mixture. Stir in rolled oats and coconut. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a baking sheet.

Bake at 350°F for 12 to 15 minutes.

Makes 3 dozen cookies.
