SOPAIPILLAS 
4 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. warm water
1 tbsp. shortening
1 tbsp. sugar
1 pkg. yeast
1 c. scalded milk

Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add to dry ingredients and the cooled, scalded milk. Mix well and knead dough 15-20 minutes. Set aside dough for 10-15 minutes. Roll dough 1/4 inch thick and cut in pieces 2x4 inches. Fry in hot fat. (More flour may be needed for smooth dough.) Serve with honey.
