FRUITCAKE COOKIES 
1 c. light brown sugar
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/3 c. maraschino cherries, cut up
1/3 c. raisins
1/3 c. drained crushed pineapple
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/3 c. chopped nuts
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder

Cream sugar, butter, egg and vanilla together until fluffy. Add cherries, raisins and pineapple. Sift together flour, soda, salt and baking powder. Add nuts; mix until nuts are coated with flour. Add to creamed mixture and mix well.

Drop by spoonful 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Bake in 375 degree oven for 10-15 minutes or until lightly browned. Makes 3 1/2 to 4 dozen.
