STRAWBERRY PRESERVES | |
1 qt. strawberries 2 tbsp. apple vinegar 4 c. sugar 6 drops red food coloring Prepare berries. Put into large pot and add vinegar. Cook slowly until mixture comes to a boil. Boil rapidly for 3 minutes. Add sugar and food coloring. Bring to a rolling boil. Cook for 10 minutes, skimming foam as it forms. Stir occasionally. Sterilize jars and let cool before pouring in preserves. Prepare only 1 quart of berries at a time. |
