STRAWBERRY PRESERVES 
4 c. hulled and washed strawberries
3 3/4 c. sugar

Put 2 cups berries and 2 cups sugar in a deep saucepan. Bring to a boil very slowly and stirring frequently. Boil for 10 minutes. Add remaining berries and sugar, reheat slowly, stirring to dissolve sugar. Bring to boiling point and boil rapidly for 10 to 15 minutes or until syrup sheets the spoon. Skim and pour into a bowl to cool or overnight. Fill glasses or jelly jars. Never double the batch. If doesn't come out the same as the single batch.
