RUSSIAN PIE 
2 deep dish pie shells
2 lbs. hamburger
1 med. onion
Salt and pepper to taste
1 can sliced carrots
2 c. cabbage or 1 pkg. slaw mix
2 c. brown gravy
1/2 tsp. savory optional

Brown beef in skillet until red is gone, drain, and add next 4 ingredients with 1/3 cup water and cook for 15 minutes then add 1 cup brown gravy and simmer until it cooks down. Add savory and salt and pepper and cook 5 more minutes. Pour into pie crust that has been baked just until bottom bubbles up, add the other pie crust and flute edges well. Brush top crust with egg white or milk so it will brown evenly. Bake until brown in 400 degree oven approximately 1 hour. Use other cup of brown gravy to serve over individual pieces if desired.
