COTTAGE PIE 
1/4 c. butter
1 c. diced onion
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
Salt & pepper to taste
2 to 3 carrots, grated
1/4 tsp. ground savory
1 c. brown gravy
2 c. mashed potatoes
1 bunch scallions, sliced
Shredded cheddar cheese

Heat 1/4 cup butter in skillet. Add onion and cook until lightly browned, stirring. Add beef, salt and pepper and continue cooking until beef is browned. Add shredded carrots and savory. Cook 2 minutes more.

Stir in gravy and heat until bubbling. Spoon into a buttered 8 cup flat casserole dish. Combine mashed potatoes and scallions. Spread over meat mixture. Top with shredded cheddar cheese. Bake at 400 degrees until cheese is melted and bubbly.
