I bought the 2 oz. cups with lids at Sams club but beware you get 2 thousand! Then you have to buy the lids separately so it cost me 40 bucks... ouch!! If you are going to use the jello shots for canoe trips and boating, party coving etc. you need the cup with the lids so people quit debating the cups, its fun to share with fellow boaters!

I always freeze my Jello shooters and use Spiced rum. Serve with whipped cream. Great on a hot day

If you like jager use that with blackberry jello. Tastes very good and you can taste the alcohol a little so you know how much you are getting.

I didn't have the cups when I made them. I added Knox unflavored gelatin to the jello before adding the alcohol. It made jello blocks that you could cut & pick up. It was a fun twist on the jello shots.

I've always made my jello shooters in a bowl . Just scoop out with a spoon into shooter glass or tumbler . Quick and easy and less waste . Give it a SHOT!!! ( Spoon optional )

out of all the recipes I have reviewed, this item has the most comments and/or alternative recipes. I have yet to try these, in my day we were drinking "Kamikazes", I believe I will try the watermelon one first. You young'uns take it easy on that alcohol. You have heard about psoriasis of the liver and alcoholism? Anything in moderation is o.k., so have fun, but be good to yourself.

Just to warn everyone out there if your having a small get together reduce the recipe... I made the three boxes etc. etc. and now have over 40 jello shots for a small gathering.

Try making jiggler shots.. just follow the recipe for jigglers but substitute part of the water with vodka... it's much easier to eat, you can just pick them up and don't have to waste money on something to put the jello in.. just pour it in a pan and cut them into any size you want!

Would it be okay to substitute the cups for something more accessible, like a candy mold or ice-cube tray? I've got fancy molds from back when and haven't been using them for anything lately, and it would be neat to have candy-shaped jell-o shots, I think. And could you use lollipop sticks, or are toothpicks more advisable?

Thumbs up to the gummi worm idea, think I could incorporate it inside the shots and have a Halloween party with worm shots? :)

They are yummy.. Though I prefer pudding shots.. and you can use everclear, just use it in a responsible matter and make sure you use the same amount of everclear equal to the amount of vodka you would use... This isn't right but for example... 2 cups vodka: 1 cup everclear... and so on.

if you are looking for a low cal fix i'd suggest using voli lyte vodka...that's what we use :) it's only around 40 calories per liter.
