TEXAS BEAN BAKE
2 cans pork & beans (1 lb. size)
2 cans kidney beans (1 lb. size)
2 cans Lima or butter beans (1 lb. size)
1 c. finely chopped onion
2/3 c. ketchup
2/3 c. brown sugar
2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 lb. American or cheddar cheese, coarsely grated
12 slices bacon, partially cooked
1 sm. can green chilies or jalapeno peppers, chopped (opt.)

Place all ingredients except bacon in 9 x 13 inch pan or large casserole. Stir to mix well. Cut partly cooked bacon slices in half and lay them over the top of the mixture. Bake in 375 degree oven for about 1 hour or until bubbly hot, making sure cheese is melted. Allow to set for 15 minutes before serving. Serves about 20.

(For a little more bite, in Texas style, increase amount of jalapeno pepper and add a couple of dashes of hot sauce.)
