HUGS & KISSES COOKIES 
1 c. (2 sticks) butter
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 bag (14 oz.) Hershey's chocolate kisses
Powdered sugar

Cream butter with sugar, until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and flour. Mix well. Chill dough at least 1 hour.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Break off a piece of dough and roll into a ball and flatten with palm of hand. Dough should not be too thick. Place chocolate kiss in center and bring dough up, shaping it to cover kiss completely.

Bake in 375 degree oven on ungreased sheets for 12 to 15 minutes until just lightly brown. Cool cookies on wire racks. Roll in powdered sugar, if desired. (They are plenty sweet without this.) Makes 60 cookies. Also good with other fillings: cherries, dates, nuts, etc.
