BREAKFAST BARS 
3/4 c. whole wheat flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 c. chunk style peanut butter
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1/2 c. chunk style applesauce
1 1/4 c. quick-cooking oats
1/4 c. toasted wheat germ

In a small mixing bowl combine the flour and soda.

In mixing bowl beat the peanut butter and butter about 30 seconds with hand mixer. Add the sugar and vanilla, beat well until combined. Add eggs, one at a time, beating for 1 minute after each addition. Stir in the applesauce, add the flour mixture to beaten mixture, stirring until well blended. Stir in the oats and wheat germ.

Turn batter into a greased and floured 13x9x2 inch baking pan. Bake in a 350 degree oven about 25 minutes or until done. Cool completely in pan on a wire rack. Cut into bars. (Can store in freezer, thaw as many servings as needed in microwave.) Makes 16 bars.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
