MANDEL BROT 
2 eggs
1 tsp baking powder
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup vegetable oil
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts
cinnamon and sugar mixed for sprinkling

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Line cookie sheet with tin foil and grease with butter.

Beat eggs well in a large bowl. Add baking powder to eggs and beat well. Add sugar to mixture and beat well. Add oil to mixture and beat well. Add flour (a bit at a time) to mixture and beat well. Add and combine chips and walnuts to mixture (with spoon or spatula).

Form into 3 or 4 oblong loaves and place onto cookie sheet leaving space between loaves.

Bake for 17 to 20 minutes. Loaves will be soft but not very mushy. Remove from oven and slice (shortwise) into pieces.

Lay pieces flat; sprinkle liberally with cinnamon and sugar. Return to oven. Bake approximately 10 minutes until brown. Remove from oven and turn pieces into the sugar and cinnamon the bottoms return to oven.

TURN OFF OVEN and allow cookies to dry. Oy Vey.

Love the recipe, but it's unusual that walnuts are used. The German words 'Mandel Brot' mean Almond Bread!! I'll also try it with almonds. Thanks!
