VIRGINIA APPLE PUDDING 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sifted flour
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
2 1/2 c. cooked or canned apple slices
1 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk

Melt butter in 2-quart casserole dish. Combine next 6 ingredients to make a batter; pour on top of butter. Drain apples; pile in center of batter.

Bake in moderate 375 degree oven until batter covers fruit and crust browns, about 30 to 40 minutes.

Serve with whipped cream, vanilla ice cream or pour on plain table cream. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
