GOOD ANYTIME FRUIT BREAD 
1/2 c. ground dates
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. boiling water
1 c. sugar
1 tbsp. soft butter
2 c. flour
1 egg
dash salt
8 oz. pineapple chunks, well drained
1/2 jar maraschino cherries

Mix dates, nuts, soda & water. Set aside to cool. Cream sugar, egg & butter. Stir in the flour & salt. Stir in the date mixture, plus the well drained pineapple and cherries.

Bake in greased bread pan at 325°F for 1 1/4 hours. Makes 1 loaf.
