CUCUMBER PICKLE 
8 lbs. cucumbers
2 c. lime (pickling)
2 tbsp. alum

Mix well. Cut and soak overnight. Wash well next morning.

SYRUP:

2 qts. vinegar
5 lbs. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tbsp. turmeric
2 tbsp. pickling spice
2 leave my spice in pickles, loose can use cloth

Let set for 2 hours. Bring to boil, boil 30 minutes. Pack in hot jars.
