GLAZED CUCUMBER PICKLES 
7 lbs. cucumbers, sliced
2 c. household lime
2 qts. vinegar
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. celery seed
1 tsp. allspice
3 lbs. sugar
4 tsp. salt

Cover cucumbers with 2 gallons of water and the lime. Soak 24 hours; rinse and soak 3 hours in clear water. Cover with the vinegar, spices, and sugar and salt. Soak overnight. The next morning, boil 35 minutes and seal in jars while hot.
