How much shortening? It is omitted from the ingredients list... Do they mean "Add milk and butter?"

Hi Wendy,

When the recipe says to "add shortening", it's calling for butter, which is shortening.

Hope this helps,

Have made this several times. So yummy, this morning I decided to dip the tops in cinnamon and sugar a few min after they came out of the oven. YUMMY!!! They were gone in a few minuets.

Thanks for the suggestion (Sue) to add sugar and cinnamon to the top, probably real plain without it. Also used almond milk and coconut sugar. Good stuff, simple ingredients, love this cooks site best, and of course the mysterious CM, whom I started to assume was the beginning and last letter of cooks.com til I saw her replies to others.
