SALAD BURGERS | |
1/4 c. vinegar 1/4 c. water 2 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper 1 c. chopped onion 1 lg. tomato 1/2 med. cucumber, thinly sliced 2 lbs. ground beef 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper 8 hamburger buns, split and toasted Mix vinegar, water, sugar, 1 teaspoon salt and 1/8 teaspoon pepper. Add vegetables. Cover; chill thoroughly. Mix beef, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt and 1/8 teaspoon pepper; shape into 16 patties. Broil patties 3 inches from heat until done, about 8 minutes, turning once. Place half the beef patties on bottom of buns. Drain vegetable mixture; spoon some onto patties. Top with remaining beef patties and more vegetables. Add bun tops. Serves 8. |
