MOLASSES COOKIES 
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
4 tbsp. molasses
2 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. ground ginger

Cream sugar, and shortening together. Add eggs and blend together. Stir in molasses. Sift remaining ingredients together and add to first mix. Roll dough into small balls. Roll in sugar. Space balls 2 inches apart on lightly greased baking sheet. DO NOT PRESS DOWN COOKIES.

Bake at 350°F for 10 to 12 minutes.
