SLAVSKI KOLAC
Heat 1 1/4 cups of milk to lukewarm. Add 1 1/2 cakes of yeast in warm milk, 1 tablespoon sugar and about 1/2 cup flour to make a sponge of dough. Let raise about 1/2 hour then add 5 egg yolks.

In other pan, heat 1 1/2 cups milk to lukewarm, add 1 1/4 pounds butter and 1/3 cup of sugar and 1/2 teaspoon salt when lukewarm, pour over sponge. Stir 4 to 5 cups of flour to make rather firm dough. Flour a board, turn dough on board and knead about 10 minutes adding a little flour so dough does not stick. Put a cloth in a deep dish, flour slightly, place dough on cloth in a deep dish and cover and let raise double. Butter a board, divide dough in 3 portions and roll out each piece to a long piece and braid dough into a large braid and place in deep baking pan. Let raise until double. Paint the top with 2 beaten egg yolks to which 1 teaspoon sugar is added. Bake in 325 degree oven for 1 hour.
