DAVE'S SPAGHETTI | |
1 to 2 lbs. lean ground beef 1 lb. spaghetti noodles, cooked 1 (48 oz.) jar of Prego spaghetti sauce 1. Cook ground beef until completely browned, stir occasionally to brown properly. 2. Drain beef in colander to remove grease. Mix beef with spaghetti sauce in saucepan, simmer slowly, and stir occasionally. 3. Boil water, cook spaghetti noodles according to box, and drain. Serve with meat sauce. Makes 4 servings. Increase amount of sauce, meat and noodles proportionately to increase number of servings. OPTIONAL MEATBALLS: 1 1/2 lbs. lean ground beef 1/2 lb. ground pork 2 eggs, beaten 2 heaping tbsp. minced onion 1 heaping tbsp. parsley flakes 1 heaping tbsp. Parmesan cheese 3/4 c. bread crumbs 1/8 tsp. garlic powder Pinch pepper Pinch salt Pinch oregano Pinch crushed basil Spaghetti sauce to moisten Mix well together with hands. Roll by hand into golfball sized meatballs (1 to 1 1/2 inches). Bake on broiler pan in slow oven (325 degrees) 1/2 hour each side, or until browned. Makes 20-24 meatballs. Serve over spaghetti noodles with Prego sauce or your own homemade sauce. |
