MACARONI CREOLE 
1 lb. ground beef
1 med. onion, chopped
1/2 c. chopped green pepper
Salt & pepper to taste
1 tsp. sugar
1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
2 c. uncooked macaroni
2 qts. boiling salted water
Grated cheese

In a large frying pan brown ground beef and onion. Add green pepper, salt and pepper. Cook lightly for a few minutes. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce and sugar. Simmer on low heat for about 45 minutes to 1 hour. DO NOT cover, stir frequently. While meat is simmering, bring water to a boil. Add macaroni and cook until done (about 7 to 11 minutes). Drain well. Add macaroni to the meat mixture. Let set for 15 minutes (it will thicken). Serve and add grated cheese.
