PUMPKIN COOKIES 
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
1 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
2 tsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. cooked pumpkin
1/2 c. raisins

Cream shortening and sugar together until light. Add unbeaten egg and blend thoroughly. Sift together flour and spices, add to creamed mixture alternately with pumpkin. Add raisins, mix well. Drop by teaspoons on greased baking sheet, about 2 inches apart; flatten slightly. Bake at 400 degrees about 15 minutes. 2 dozen cookies.
