SMOTHERED CABBAGE 
1 head cabbage, cut up
1 scant spoon oil
1 onion, chopped
Salt and pepper to taste

Heat oil in saucepan. Add cabbage and onion, salt and pepper. Cover and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Cabbage will brown somewhat. Cook about 1 hour. May add 1/2 teaspoon of sugar if you like slightly sweet taste.
