WHOLE WHEAT REFRIGERATOR ROLL DOUGH | |
3 pkgs. yeast (or equivalent) 2 cups warm water 1/2 cup sugar 2 tsp. salt 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, divided 2 eggs 1/3 cup shortening 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour Dissolve yeast in water. Add sugar, salt and about 3 cups all-purpose flour. Beat thoroughly 2 minutes. Add eggs and shortening. Gradually beat in remaining flour (all-purpose and wheat) until smooth. Cover with a damp cloth and place in refrigerator. Punch down occasionally as dough rises in refrigerator. Shape into rolls and place on greased baking sheet. Cover and let rise until double, 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Heat oven to 400°F. Bake at 400°F for 12 to 15 minutes. |
