1 1/2 c. shortening
2 c. brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
1 c. applesauce
4 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
2 c. raisins
1 c. chopped nuts

Mix well and bake at 375 degrees for 10 - 12 minutes.
