APPLE CABBAGE SLAW | |
1 packet Butter Buds (8 tsp.) mixed with 1/4 c. hot water 1/2 c. plain low-fat yogurt 1 tbsp. distilled white vinegar 1 tbsp. sugar (substitute Sweet 'n Low, 1 packet (1/3 tsp.) and lower the calories by 10) 3 c. finely shredded red cabbage 1 c. chopped apple, unpeeled (green apple adds contrast color) 1 med. orange, peeled, chopped 1/4 c. thinly sliced celery 1/4 c. chopped walnuts 1 tsp. caraway seeds 1/2 tsp. Ms. Dash, no salt 1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper Mix the first 4 ingredients in a separate bowl. Mix the remaining ingredients in a large salad bowl; pour on the liquid ingredients and toss to combine. I like this better after it has chilled in the refrigerator for an hour or two. |
