1/2 stick butter 1 c. sugar 1 tsp. each vanilla & lemon extract 1 egg Self rising flour (about 2 c.) Cream together butter and sugar. Add extracts. Beat in egg. Add enough flour to make dough stiff enough to roll out (about 2 cups). Dough may be placed in refrigerator and used later. Use red food coloring (added to creamed mixture) for hearts for Valentine's Day. Green food coloring for trees at Christmas and decorate. Bake on ungreased baking sheet at 325 degrees for 12 minutes. Do not over bake. Makes 3 dozen. |
