ICE BOX ROLLS 
3/4 c. shortening
1/4 to 1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. salt
1 egg
1 c. water
1 c. milk
1 yeast cake
6 c. flour

Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup lukewarm water, let stand while mixing other ingredients. Mix shortening, sugar, salt and egg as mixing a cake. Add yeast and 1/2 cup water and milk. Add flour, mix well. Let rise until double in size. Punch down. Grease bowl and grease surface. Cover and place in refrigerator.

Take out about 2 hours before cooking. Punch down and form into rolls. Place on greased pan. Let rise about 2 hours. Bake in 400 degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes. The dough will keep for several days in refrigerator.
