HUNGARIAN CABBAGE AND NOODLES 
1/2 lb. wide noodles
1 sm. head cabbage
4 slices bacon
Salt
1 tsp. sugar
Black pepper

1. Boil noodles in salted water until soft; drain and rinse. 2. Cut up cabbage, very fine, then in little pieces. Salt and set aside for 20 minutes. Squeeze out thoroughly. 3. Cut up bacon. Cook in large frying pan. When pieces are crisp, remove bacon from pan. Leave 4 tablespoons bacon grease in pan, then add cabbage. Sprinkle with sugar and pinch of black pepper. Saute until golden brown. 4. Add cooked noodles, blend together. Add bacon pieces. Serves 4.

Variation: Add thinly sliced onions at the same time as cabbage is added to bacon grease.
