CHICKEN IN BARBECUE SAUCE 
1 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 (3 lb.) chicken, cut up
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. Ketchup
1 c. water
2 1/2 tbsp. vinegar
3 tbsp. butter
3 tbsp. brown sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper

Mix flour, salt, and pepper. Coat chicken pieces with this mixture, slowly brown in shortening. Place browned chicken pieces in greased casserole. Combine remaining ingredients and heat to boiling, pour over chicken. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 1 hour. 6 servings.
