OATMEAL CAKE 
1 1/4 c. boiling water
1 c. quick oats
1 stick butter
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/3 c. sifted flour

Pour boiling water over oats and let stand 20 minutes. Cream butter, sugars, combine with oats. Add eggs, salt, cinnamon, soda, vanilla, and flour. Bake in 9 x 13 inch pan 30-35 minutes at 350 degrees. Cover hot cake with topping.

TOPPING:

1 c. brown sugar
1 c. coconut
1 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. sour cream
4 tbsp. butter (1/2 cube)

Mix topping. Spread on hot cake. Place under broiler 3-5 minutes. Watch it! Leave cake uncovered.
