GROUND PORK CASSEROLE 
1 (6 oz.) pkg. long grain rice
1 lb. unseasoned ground pork
8 oz. mushrooms
1 lg. onion
4 tbsp. flour
1/2 c. half and half
2 1/2 c. chicken broth
1/8 tsp. thyme
1/4 tsp. oregano
1/8 tsp. marjoram
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sliced almonds

Cook rice as directed on package. Brown sausage and drain fat. Add chopped onion and saute. Add flour and half and half and cook with chicken broth to make white sauce. Season. Combine with cooked rice and put into casserole. Bake 45 minutes in 350 degree oven. Spread almonds on top before serving.

The recipe was surprisingly very good! I've substituted the half and half for whole milk and didn't have marjoram. The reason I gave it a 4stars is simply because the mushrooms were never mentioned in the directions, I just happen to remember to add them at the end...still good...also I pull the casserole about 2-3 minutes prior to 45 min to have some moist to the dish and I've buttered the baking dish prior to putting the mixture in it.

Really tasty! Perfect creamy comfort food for a cold winter day. I served it with mini garlic toast and some steamed broccoli and my family asked for seconds :)
