APPLE OR CHERRY CRISP 
1/2 c. butter plus 2 tbsp.
1/2 c. sugar, plus 2 tbsp.
1 c. flour, plus 2 tbsp.
2 lg. apples, peeled, cored and sliced1 tsp. cinnamon
Cherry crisp - omit apples and substitute 1 (16 oz.) can sour cherries, drained

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine 1/2 cup butter, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 cup flour in a medium bowl until mixture is the consistency of coarse crumbs. Press half of mixture into an 8 inch square baking pan.

In a separate bowl combine apples and remaining 2 tablespoons each sugar, flour and butter. Mix well. Layer evenly in pan and sprinkle with cinnamon. Top with remaining crumb mixture and bake 1 hour, or until apple slices are tender. Serves 4.
