QUICK HAMBURGER BUNS 
2 pkgs. dry yeast
2 c. warm water
1/4 c. shortening
5 to 5 1/2 c. flour
2 eggs
1/4 c. sugar
2 tsp. salt

Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add the remaining ingredients and half the flour. Beat until smooth and then add remaining flour. Beat again with spoon until all flour is thoroughly mixed and you have a nice pliable dough. Cover and let rise until double, about 30 minutes. Punch down and place dough on floured surface. Roll to about 1/2 inch thickness and cut buns (with floured edge) with glass or doughnut cutter. Place buns on greased baking sheet. Cover and let rise until double (about 1 hour). Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. Yield: about 24 buns.
