SUPPOSEDLY a customer of NM tried one of their cookies and asked if the recipe was for sale. They said yes. When asked how much the reply was 2.50. She got her bill and it said $250.00. She called about her bill and found it was not a mistake. She agreed to pay it, but let them know everyone in Texas would have the recipe. I don't know if the story is true, or if this is the recipe, but the cookies are good.

1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour
1 1/2 c. blended oatmeal
3/4 c. chopped nuts
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
8 oz. chocolate chips
1 (2 oz.) grated Hershey bar

Blended Oatmeal: Measure and blend in the blender to a fine powder.

Cream butter and sugars, add egg and vanilla. Mix flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder and soda. Add chips, candy and nuts. Roll into balls and place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees. Makes about 2 1/2 dozen.
